DOWNTOWN VISION
PHASE 1:
W. Main Street
Streetscape
Phase 1 includes implementing the streetscape and landscape recommendations for W. Main Street from the 2016 Downtown Streetscape Master Plan. Geographically, W. Main Street was identified as the highest priority as it provides the biggest impact once completed.
Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2023.
PHASE 2:
Depot Site
Civic Plaza
The former train depot building on the south side of the railroad tracks was removed in 2019, and in its place exists the opportunity for a new public gathering space.
Phase 2 includes the creation of a new community plaza in this location, with construction anticipated to begin in 2024.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
Note that there are NO CHANGES to the facades of any private buildings with this project.
All streetscape work will occur on the public right-of-way between the face of the buildings.
The digital renderings of the existing buildings are only approximate representations of the structures intended to provide viewers with some relative context and scale for the proposed streetscape work.
